I think it is important to leave something behind that will continue long after we’ve gone, and as a group of people, the significance of what is left is greatly increased. With RAW I get to work alongside young people and adults and help them confirm not only that we are all much more cable than we give ourselves credit for, but that together we are able to do something that significantly changes the way other people experience tomorrow, and that is an opportunity I do not want to let pass.

Being a part of the Cambodia trip family has completely changed my perspective on the world & the needs of the people in it. This trip has made me realise the power of human intention and hard work, and that while a task may seem impossible to an individual, it soon becomes achievable as a group. Whereas before, I saw our trip as a means of saving those who are dependent on our help, I now realise that the goal to any volunteer work should simply be to support the people in becoming self-sufficient and able to re-establish their own lives without us. I love the mentality of the people at RAW Impact and truly believe in their “hand up, not hand out” model.
